
Coach Trent Phegley
Trent Phegley serves as the Head Coach and Director of the Indiana Grit AAU Basketball Program while also leading the Frontier Falcons as the Varsity Head Coach at Frontier High School in Chalmers, Indiana. Known for his energy, leadership, and commitment to player development, Coach Phegley has built a strong reputation for helping athletes maximize their potential through skill development, accountability, and a high-level understanding of the game.
Since taking over the Frontier program, Coach Phegley has helped establish a culture centered around toughness, discipline, and continuous improvement. His teams are recognized for their competitiveness, basketball IQ, and unselfish style of play. Under his leadership, Frontier has continued to grow into a respected program, while producing high-level individual talent. Coach Phegley has coached the White County Player of the Year in back-to-back seasons with two different players from within his program, showcasing his ability to consistently develop athletes and elevate their games year after year. Multiple former players under his guidance have also gone on to pursue opportunities at the collegiate level.
Coach Phegley's reputation extends beyond the high school season. He has been selected three times to coach at the prestigious Indiana Basketball Coaches Association (IBCA) Top 100 Players Workout, an honor that reflects the respect he has earned among coaches throughout the state of Indiana. His experience working with elite players and prospects allows him to bring advanced teaching methods and player development strategies to every Indiana Grit athlete.
A former guard at Rensselaer Central High School, Coach Phegley uses his own playing experience to teach guard play, shooting, decision-making, leadership, and competitiveness. His passion for basketball extends far beyond wins and losses — he is committed to helping athletes grow both on and off the court while building confidence, work ethic, and a mindset for long-term success.
